Inspired by our roots in farming
We were raised on farms, Janie in Lochaber and Colin on the south side of Edinburgh.
Our Story
Janie has always said "spring wouldn't be the same without lambing." She grew up helping her father look after their sheep and cattle in the shadow of Ben Nevis near Fort William. Colin's father, grandfather, great-grandfather etc were all potato growers and traders starting in South Ayrshire then Fife and ultimately the Lothians.
Being the youngest of five siblings Janie has always done more than just shepherding, from looking after fishermen on the Spey to running the restaurant / brasserie at Swanston, her chefing and butchering skills have always been appreciated. Colin & Janie's daughter Louise has been working with RSPB and NatureScot since graduating with a degree in Zoology from Glasgow Uni in 2022. She works closely with her parents when home.
